Incoming Bristol Fifth Grade Students: You now have the opportunity to join Bristol's Band Program!

5th-Grade Band Parent Meeting-9/9/24

Parents are invited to attend Bristol’s 5th grade parent band meeting scheduled on Monday, September 9th, at 6:30pm in the large gym to learn more about our band program! This 5th-grade band parent resource letter contains additional information and links.

Bristol's 5th Grade Band Program:

• Any 5th grade student may join with parental permission.
• No prior experience with reading music is needed.
• Annual December concert.

5th Grade Band Students:

• During their Encore time, will receive a weekly small group 20 minute lesson that provides them with specific help in learning their chosen instrument and reading music.
• Participate in annual winter and spring concert.
• Need an instrument and Essentail Elements Book 1 for their specific instrument.
• Are encouraged to purchase an inexpensive music stand.
• That do not own an instrument already, can rent one from Pacetti's Music who will deliver the instrument to Bristol School and have the Essential Elements Book and music stand available for purchase.
• If you are experiencing severe economic hardship but would like for your 5th grader to participate in band, please contact Mr. John Murphy, Band Director, to make arrangements.
