Renegade Way has 4 components:
- Behavioral Expectations Matrix: Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible
- Cool Tools – Monthly lesson plans used to teach/reinforce the Behavioral Expectations
- Office Discipline Referral Forms – ODR’s
- Celebrations/Incentives– Rewards that are spaced throughout the school year. The Celebrations/Incentives are meant to acknowledge those students that are making positive behavioral choices. A few examples would include: Bristol Bucks Store, weekly/monthly drawings, and special assemblies.
Benefits of PBIS (research-based):
- Increase in attendance.
- Student self-reports of a more positive and calm environment.
- Teacher reports of a more positive and calm environment.
- Reduction in the proportion of students who engage in behavioral disruptions.
- Reduction in the number of behavioral disruptions.
