Director of Special Education
Greetings Bristol Family,
When I was thirteen years old, my family immigrated to the United States from the Republic of Georgia. As an English Language Learner, I quickly immersed myself into my studies. After graduating from Niles West High School, I completed my undergraduate studies at Loyola University with a double major in Psychology and Criminal Justice. Later, I attained a Director of Special Education endorsement and a Doctorate of Education in School Psychology / Neuropsychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
For over a decade, I have worked as a school psychologist and a special education administrator within districts serving pre-K through high school students. I stay abreast of current practices and train prospective school psychologists as an adjunct professor at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. These experiences and training have not only prepared me to offer my services to the Bristol School family, but also have provided me with an understanding of the challenges and tribulations faced by students needing special services. My passion for supporting students has been fueled by my life experiences and continues to guide my professional path.
I am also blessed to be a Bristol resident and a mother of two students who attend Bristol School. Due to this personal connection, I have a deep desire for the growth and development of the school workforce as well as the students. I believe that student success is rooted in celebrating personal accomplishments. Having a support system that recognizes that all students are capable of attaining success is a vital factor in the development process. By working collaboratively with all stakeholders, I look forward to fulfilling the district’s mission of providing effective behavioral and academic instruction in a nurturing and supportive environment.
With warmest regards,
Dr. Tea Mohn
