Welcome to the 2026-2027 School Year!
Welcome to a brand-new school year! I am excited to be your Librarian and STEAM Teacher at Bristol School! I look forward to working with my students of all ages and supporting their growth as readers, creators, and problem-solvers.
In this role, I get to combine the best of both worlds- literacy and STEAM. We will have hands-on lessons which explore stories that encourage creativity and collaboration. My goal is to help every student grow as a reader and a curious thinker. Last year I developed a MakerSpace for students to work on their group or individual projects.
I have been busy this summer reading new children's books, working on Battle of the Books questions for 4th-6th grades, and planning lessons and activities. This year I had the opportunity to attend the WEMTA Conference to get ideas and inspiration for our library program. People from all over Wisconsin participated in this conference, sharing ideas and information on how to integrate STEM/STEAM activities into schools that pair with reading and literacy. I met a few authors, and hope to have an author visit this year. I am planning to host a Read-A-Thon, where all students can participate! This Read-A Thon will help fund an author visit to our school.
My husband and I have three sons. Our oldest son is a P.E. and Health Teacher here at the school and also serves as the tennis coach at Central High School. He is married to our daughter-in-law, Breanna, and they have a sweet daughter, Tatum. Our middle son, Cooper, is attending graduate school, and Paxton, our youngest boy, is a freshman at Carthage College. In my free time, I enjoy reading, playing board games, creating games and activities for my students, and spending time with my family, book club, and friends.
I am thrilled to begin another year at Bristol School!
