Anthology 2022-2023
The Southern Lakes Anthology is a collection of poetry, writing, and artwork from the surrounding area. Each fall, students in grades 3-8 can submit work revolving around that year's theme. Bristol School can select up to 24 pieces to submit to the area judging that takes place in January. Selected students receive a copy of the anthology and attend a reception to celebrate their work in the spring.
Band (Jazz Band, Summer Band, Solo/Ensemble)
Beginner Band is open to all fifth-grade students. Students are tested during the first week of the school year to determine which instrument best suits their natural gifts. A parent information meeting is held the following week to discuss rental options and the specific goals of the program. No prior music training is necessary. Rehearsal is held twice a week in full group band which is opposite their study hall. Small group half-hour lessons are given during the week for instrument-specific instruction. Concerts are performed during the year.
Sixth Grade Band is open to all sixth-grade students. Students rehearse twice a week in full group band opposite their study hall. Small group half-hour lessons are given during the week for instrument-specific instruction. Concerts are performed throughout the year and students also perform in pep band concerts.
Advanced Band is open to all seventh and eighth-grade students with prior music experience. Students rehearse three times a week in full group band during fifth-hour (study hall/electives). Small group half-hour lessons are given during the week for instrument-specific instruction. The Advanced Band performs a variety of traditional, classical, pop, and jazz compositions in their various concerts throughout the year, including performances. Students also participate in the district solo and ensemble competitions.
Battle of The Books 2022-2023
Battle of the Books (BOB) is a fun and competitive reading program that encourages 4th-6th grade students to read a variety of books. Sponsored by WEMTA (Wisconsin Media Technology Association/a division of the DPI) students are provided a list of approximately 20 books from various genres.
Students are expected to read each of the books and remember information about the plot, setting, and characters of the books. The list of books is released each June with the online competition taking place in February.
Interested students will meet several times a month throughout the school year to prepare for the competition. Participants deemed most knowledgeable by the coaches will form a team to represent Bristol School at the end of the season.

Science Club 2022-2023
Science Club will provide a variety of activities (some life science-based and other physical science-based) for seventh and eighth graders to bend their brains and get them thinking like a scientist.
S.T.E.A.M. Club 2022-2023
If you are a third-grade or fourth-grade student interested in learning how to solve problems to create projects, investigate science topics and/or learn how to code, then S.T.E.A.M. Club may be for you! We will be working on science labs, engineering design challenges, and block coding.
Student Council 2022-2023
The Student Council is a chance for students in grades 7 and 8 to practice their leadership skills while helping the community. Students participate in a yearly food drive, plan spirit weeks, and help with other community service activities as they arise.
Talent Show 2022-2023
The Talent Show is an opportunity for Bristol students in grades 2-8 to share their talents with others during a performance each spring.
