Teacher-Grade 8 ELA Email Phone: 262-857-2334 ext. 1204 Twitter: JillM_McDonnell Welcome to the new school year! I would like to take a minute to introduce myself.
I grew up in Detroit, Michigan. I attended Michigan State University and then moved to Connecticut where I finished my bachelor’s degree in Journalism. In 2007, I moved to Louisville, Kentucky where I changed careers and became a teacher. I received my Master’s degree in Education from the University of Louisville. In 2011, I moved to Wisconsin and started teaching in Antioch. Now I've been teaching at Bristol for over a decade. I previously taught 6th grade here and recently moved to 8th grade.
My husband, Matt, and I have two daughters, Avery and Emilie. They both attend Bristol School. We also have two dachshunds, Macaroni (Mac) and Ziggy.
I love to read and write, and I look forward to sharing that with my students. I run the Project LIT Book Club here for 7th-8th grade students and the Southern Lakes Anthology, which is a chance for 3rd-8th grade students to get their writing published. I run the Student Council with Mrs. Burks, where 7th and 8th grade students can show their leadership and help the community. I also lead a Girl Scout troop here.
If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me. My extension is 1204 or you can email me at mcdonnell.jil@bristol.k12.wi.us. I am excited to get to know this year's students!
